YIPF empowers young Nigerians to lead, legislate, and shape democratic outcomes through structured political engagement.
YIPF equips young Nigerians to take informed, active roles in legislative and public policy spaces—through training, advocacy, and direct engagement.
The Youth in Parliament Forum (YIPF) is a non-partisan platform supporting young Nigerians in understanding, engaging with, and influencing the legislative process. We foster civic leadership through hands-on training, peer collaboration, and dialogue with public officials.
We exist because political participation in Nigeria has too often excluded the very demographic that makes up the majority of its population: young people.
While youth are frequently used as campaign tools or mobilization assets, they are rarely given the knowledge, access, or preparation needed to participate meaningfully in governance.
We believe this gap is not accidental—it’s systemic. And fixing it requires more than temporary youth inclusion or symbolic appointments. It demands deliberate investment in youth capacity, consistent exposure to public institutions, and long-term programs that develop legislative fluency, civic discipline, and political confidence.
YIPF was founded to do exactly that: to equip young Nigerians not only to demand change, but to help design and deliver it from inside government structures—ethically, intelligently, and with lasting impact.
At YIPF, our work is built around one mission: bridging the gap between young Nigerians and the governance structures that shape their future.
We focus on giving young people not just a seat at the table, but the tools, language, and confidence to use that seat well. Our programs are designed to deepen youth understanding of public institutions, improve their capacity for legislative engagement, and strengthen their readiness to lead or support policymaking efforts.
Whether it’s through hands-on education, direct mentorship, or policy development exercises, every pillar of our work is rooted in practice, not theory.
We don’t just talk about civic engagement, we show young Nigerians how to do the work, with integrity and clarity.
Our programs are designed to move young Nigerians from political awareness to active, informed participation in governance.
