Find Your Spark: A Free Technology Training for Nigerian Youth
The Youth in Parliament Forum (YIPF), in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD), is proud to launch the Spark Bootcamp.
This is a free, five-week online program designed to bridge the global skills gap by empowering Nigerian youth with high-demand technology skills. Our mission is to provide you with foundational, globally-relevant training to help you compete for high-demand roles, both locally and internationally.

LEARNING TRACKS
Participants will take a pre-test to find the best fit, but you have the final choice of which track to follow.
Track 1: Cybersecurity Fundamentals & Threat Defense
Become a digital defender. This track builds your ability to protect networks and systems. You will learn the CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability), the importance of firewalls and IDS/IPS systems, the basics of identity management with RBAC and MFA, and how to respond to live incidents by triaging alerts.
- Gateway Roles: Prepares you for roles like SOC Tier 1 Analyst or Network Security Technician.
Track 2: Data Protection and Privacy Fundamentals
Master the rules of user data protection in the digital age. This track is essential for any roles in organizations that handle data. You will gain deep knowledge of global and local regulations, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. You will learn to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments DPIAs, implement ‘Privacy-by-Design’, and manage data breach reporting to keep your organization compliant with Nigerian laws and requirements to avoid customer backlash and fines.
- Gateway Roles: Prepares you for roles like Data Protection Officer, Junior Privacy Analyst or Data Compliance Assistant.
Track 3: Data Governance & Cloud Computing
Elevate your value to your organization by mastering the principles behind your data in the cloud. This track combines data management with modern cloud infrastructure. You will learn the differences between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, understand the vital ‘Shared Responsibility Model’ for security, manage data quality and metadata, and learn how to control cloud costs while ensuring compliance with existing and emerging policies such as the National Cloud Policy.
- Gateway Roles: Prepares you for roles like Cloud Support Technician or Data Governance Assistant.
Track 4: Data Analytics: Foundations & Strategy
Why is there so much talk about data in today’s world? In this introductory course, designed to complement the cybersecurity, data governance, cloud and data protection modules, go from raw event data to business strategy. This track covers the full analytical lifecycle culminating in presenting to a business audience. You will learn to use SQL side-by-side with click and drag applications to clean and extract insights from real world data. You will build and evaluate basic predictive models, and master the art of data storytelling to influence business decisions.
- Gateway Roles: Strengthens your confidence using data in data protection, governance and cybersecurity roles. Prepares you for roles like Data Analyst or Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst.

Spark. Bootcamp: Promotional Offer Terms and Conditions
Addendum: Clarification on Examinations and Certification
This addendum clarifies the components of the free introductory service and the distinction between the included “Confirmation of Completion” and other “Full Certifications” managed by the Youth in Parliament Forum (YiPF).
Free Introductory Service Details
The free promotional offer is provided for an initial cohort of 60,000–70,000 learners between November 2025 and February 2026. This free service is defined by the partnership agreement and includes the following components:
- Access Duration: Participants receive complimentary access for a total period of twelve (12) weeks from their enrollment date.
- Track Limit: Participants may enroll in one (1) learning track only.
- Track Exam: The offer includes one (1) attempt at the confirmation of completion course exam for the selected track.
- Certificate: Participants receive one (1) confirmation of completion attested to the FMYD for any further opportunities.
Confirmation of Completion (Track Exam)
This is the credential included in the free introductory offer.
- Format: This is a 20-question, Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) examination.
- Requirement: A minimum passing threshold of 75% is required to demonstrate entry-level professional competence.
- Outcome: Successfully passing this exam grants the learner the Confirmation of Completion for their specific track only.
Full Certification (Powered by YIPF)
This refers to separate certification pathways managed exclusively by the Youth in Parliament Forum (YIPF).
- Definition: This may include a “comprehensive certificate of achievement” issued by YIPF, which bundles the Spark. Bootcamp certificate with those of other partners such as the FMYD.
- Status: These “Full Certifications” or “Additional certification exams” are not part of the free introductory service.
- Management and Charges: YIPF has the exclusive right to manage and monetize these additional certifications, including charges for certification and access to additional tracks.
Rationale for Advanced Attainment
While the free introductory track provides a strong, verifiable foundation, learners are encouraged to pursue advanced attainment. Attainment in multiple courses and tracks provides a better guarantee of comprehensive skill and improves the chances of employment for the most competitive technology roles.
Exclusions and Optional Services
This free promotional offer does not include:
- Continued access to course materials beyond the initial twelve (12) week period.
- Additional course exams or exam retakes.
- Access to additional learning tracks.
- Any “Full Certification” or “Additional certification exams” managed by YIPF.
- Any other value-added services, such as digital notarization.
These additional services are managed exclusively by the Youth in Parliament Forum (YIPF) and may be offered separately.
